Snow

Our first big snow.

Pine trees covered in snow!

It is pretty...

I'm ready for the snow!

Let's go outside!

Wishing for spring?

A poem dedicated to Fran and how we felt about her

So Rare

Her joy is what we'll remember most
how her laughter filled the air
Her kindness, well, noone comes close
She was one in a million, so rare

She encouraged us, pressed us to excel
sometimes lifted us from despair
She always saw our better angels
She was a gift to us, so rare

The lessons she taught us, we'll hold dear
and the love she showed, we'll share
To honor her, let us keep her path
and walk a righteous road, so rare

We truly adored her and ask ourselves
How can we live without her here?
But God has called her, to her heavenly home
where the angels now say, so rare

I will miss her so much

I have to say this, to write this, about one of the dearest people in my life, the most influential person by far and my inspiration. I am speaking of Fran, my mother in law, although she was a mother to me for far longer than my own mother was. I'd like to think that she's in heaven now, telling my mom about how well I turned out after all, and that I am a mother of three outstanding children and the proud grandmother of two, my beauty and my cutie. I hope she realizes how much of an impact she's had on my life. When I joined the Robinson clan, I was welcomed in like I was an original member and she made me feel special and wanted. If not for her and Jim, college would have never happened for me. With her prompting, telling me how hard she worked to get her degree and that I could do the same, I sat at her dining room table night after night studying until I finally graduated with honors. They took care of Shaun while I was in school, making it easier for me to go to college. Because of the two of them, I was able to stay home with Shannon and Brandon when they were babies and she took care of them while I returned to work. I never experienced the anxiety that most mom's have about how my kids were during the day because she loved and took care of them. As did Jim. They both took us in and cared for us for many years. During that time, I gleaned some of her wisdom, for she always shared her experience and knowledge with me, she taught me lessons that only a Mother can teach a daughter, and I am eternally grateful. She taught me many things, actually, and I couldn't have had a wiser mentor. She was the strong woman for me, the one who I could go to with any problem. She was the one who told me, "Kathy, you get on your feet and be strong for your family". She taught me to do whatever it takes for your family, no matter what. I knew whatever was going on with me, she would listen and offer a solution. To this day, I would give her the "dirt" on what was going on in my life and by the time the conversation was through, she'd have planted a flower in that dirt. Having grandchildren of my own bought us closer together. I started my blog about them so that I could share with everyone, but especially Jim and Fran, who eagerly read it everyday. I would start my blog first thing in the morning, because Fran said she waited for it, and I appreciated that so much. Often I would get a phone call where she would laugh about the pictures and stories, which was so special to me because I knew she loved them as much as I. It will be hard for me to blog because I will think of her and probably cry because I will miss her so much. I am happy that she left a legacy in my heart, about being a woman, a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a friend. So thank you, dear Fran. I will always think of you and miss you. You are in my heart forever.

Under the weather

Being sick is no fun!

But I still get by!

I can't help myself, I'm just a fun, happy girl!

Sick babies

Well, it's official. Sawyer has croup and Tegan has an ear infection. I think they both have that upper respiratory flu. They sound so sick and Tegan looks miserable :(

Little Sickies

Saturday
Oh, boy! Bubbles is sick today!
He sounds terrible!

What's wrong with me? I am coughing and sneezing and runny nosy.

I dot feeling good at all.

At least I finally get to play with MomMom's cell phone!

Sunday

I am feeling better and like bouncing today!

I feel good enough to smile real cute!

Now I am really sick and fussy too! I just had some medicine, so I am feeling much better!

I'll just sit here quietly and play...

Duplo blocks. Everyone hates when I get these out because they have to pick them all up!

I love blocks! There's no end to what you can build!

I'm patting the floor so that MomMom knows to come sit down with me and play!

MomMom says she can't sit on the floor because her body hurts too much! That poor old bird sure is getting old! Where's PopPop when you need him?

If MomMom won't come to the blocks, the blocks will go to MomMom!

Here MomMom, play blocks with me!

Playing

Now that the holidays are over and the kids have a new batch to play with, it has been alot of fun watching the two of them play. Tegan is really good at pretending, so playing with her doll house, her Mrs. Potts tea set, and her kitchen toys is truly entertaining. She has a great imagination! Sawyer is gingerly picking toys up and putting them in his mouth. He examines everything first, bangs it around a few times and then finds the perfect end to put in his mouth!

Tegan Teaches Sawyer the ropes

Boy, that's cool? Is that dump truck really mine?

Are you done showing me how to play with it?

Hey, when can I play?

Watching Disney in the Evening

I am amazed at how focused Tegan is at watching the Disney shows for older kids! She really scrutinizes every scene. Of course, if there is any dancing to do, she stands up on my bed and dances!

Our favorite show is Good Luck Charlie (Cha-yee) and I have to say, I roll with laughter watching it! Who knew kid shows could be so hysterical!

Nobody likes commercials

Yuckie prunes!

I've been having problems going number 2, so Daddy fed me prunes! Ew, prunes!
What kind of kid wants prunes?

So I'll just play with my baby. His hands and toes are so much fun to chew on!

Hey wait? What's wrong with this baby?

Good grief, this baby is covered in prunes!

I just can't eat any more prunes!

Adios, prune baby!

Snow! (Even if only a few inches)

Winter’s gifts

Winter frost sprinkled across the earth’s crust
Intricate patterns are born of star dust
Designed by a heavenly artist, our Lord
A gift to all creatures, an earthly reward

Icicles drape across branches and limb
Like chandelier prisms, gently dangling
When lit by the sun, they dazzle and shine
Sparkling brilliance cast by the divine

Snowflakes are delicate gifts from above
Each one unique, created from love
They dance and they spin on there way to the ground
These celestial gifts descend without sound

Each gift from winter is a reminder to man
Of God’s redemption, his heavenly plan
As snow covers and cleanses the earth in white,
So we too will be covered and clothed in his light

Bubbles

Tegan calls him Bubbles and so here he is, a double bubble cutie!

PPP

Here I am with MomMom and PopPop at the pizza joint. We are doing PPP, Pizza, puppies and play area tonight! First we eat, then we go to the pet store and finally, I get to play with other kids in the play area.

Oh, I hate being in the high chair. I'll give the pout so they'll let me out!

Good, the coke has arrived!

Oh look, garlic and pepper shakers? I'll pretend to me mildly interested so they don't take them away from me.

I need to keep up my posts on facebook.

Anyone need garlic and pepper? (You gotta keep them involved in the process)

Here, I'm doing a little dance in my seat, for entertainment purposes!

Boy oh boy, I can play them like a deck of cards!
