No new pics

Yesterday, Tegan had a rash covering her body. The doctor said that it was part of the virus she had. She was pretty fussy too. Shannon does not have gestational diabetes to date. She saw the baby visa vie sonogram and the baby was waving his/her hand! She will know the sex next month!

Sickie poo

This weekend, Tegan was sick, running a fever as high as 103 degrees. Shannon and Noah were sick as well. Needless to say, I did not take any pictures because she was incredibly cranky!

Chill!

sometimes, you just have to relax!

Such talent!

Hi everybody! I can eat my toe!

Big ball

Tegan likes my new exercise ball. We roll it back and forth!

It's lovely to be around such a happy girl!

Beautiful Morning

Some mornings are full of hope
the sky, a canvas of color and light
like God himself says 'good morning, child'
'I'm with you, morning, noon and night'

Tegan and Shaun

Tegan loves any interaction with Shaun because he is so playful and fun. Here she is trying to engage him from across the living room barrier.

Cutie-patootie!

Bubble dress and pony tail

She looks so cute in her bubble dress that I had to do something with her one inch of hair!

Blocked!

This weekend, I rearranged my pantry so that Tegan's shelves had bigger and lighter items for her to organize. PopPop put a latch on the kitchen door so that she cannot sneak out and head upstairs. Here she is all dressed up for going out to eat with her Mommy and Daddy.

Not always a happy camper

Tegan is cutting a molar, so last night she didn't even eat her dinner! In fact, I think she was rather p.o.'d, since she threw her food on the floor and yelled the whole time she was in her high chair. Bless her little heart!

Look at those teefers!

Look at those choppers! What a lovely smile she has! I love her belly laugh too!

Pretty while pregnant

Where did she get those big, green eyes!

Our little inmate!

We are now at the point where we have to blockade our doors so Tegan, the curious, won't escape. She
seeks out everything she cannot have and now tries to 'quietly' exit the room when no one is looking. Look at this face. I ask you, is this the face of innocence?
I think not.

Nevertheless, she is so much fun to watch and I laugh every day!

The return of stinker face and raspberries

Tegan was in rare form last night and gave her adoring fans a much needed stinker face...

and threw in a couple of raspberries too!

Happy new year!

Resolutions

I afraid I’ll have to resurrect last year's resolution, that is, to exercise and eat healthy, and
I know what to do, I just don't do it. Face it; it sucks to bust your butt on hourly walks,
pilates stretches, weight lifting and calorie counting. That's why, this year,
I am taking a different tack. I am not going to count calories, that only ensures instant,
insatiable hunger pains for me, I'm just not going to do it. For me, dieting is hard since
most people can cut out certain foods and lose weight. As a diabetic, I don't imbibe in alcohol,
or suck down sodas. I do not nosh on chips and fries or candy and donuts. There is nothing
for me to cut out, well, except butter. It is my one pleasure, my one decedent dab of deliciousness that I savor and enjoy. So, I will have to cut back on that. Make no mistake, I will have a smear now and then. Nevertheless, I know the which foods to eat, super foods, monounsaturated fats, colors of the rainbow yada yada, I'll just stick to them. At least I'll try. More importantly, I will have to exercise. Daily. So, if you talk to me, hold me accountable. Ask me how my exercise program is doing. Maybe, the humiliation of anyone finding out how lazy I am will force me to stick with it
Anyway, happy 2010!

Winter Musings

I take comfort in the winter landscape, seeing the cold, white sun cast a soft, golden glow on the barren trees that sway in the icy, frigid wind. I find solace in the fierce and bitter winds as they rush through the countryside, bringing tears to my stinging, squinting eyes as I rush
home, while cloud's shadows roll across dormant, frozen fields.

Home, a place of sanctuary with a warm, amber lit kitchen, the scent of apple candles and a steaming cup of tea, where rosy cheeked faces and wagging tails are always there to greet me. Yes, I find peace in the browns and grays of winter, the ground blanketed with snow, covering
and giving a well earned rest to the sweet plot of earth where I reside. I take comfort, for I too shall be at rest behind the solid walls of my country house, nestled deep, beneath my soft, warm covers, safely tucked away from winter's sting.

Stair climber

This weekend, Tegan took off up the stairs! With her juice cup no less!
There's no containing her at this point!

Party girl

She entertains all of her guests!

She sure knows how to work the crowd!

Fork and Spoon not required

Tegan wasn't sure about all the singing, so she was a bit shy while that was going on.

But she was sure about digging into the icecream cake
and being positively adoreable!

Birthday's are fun

Tegan is wearing one of the outfits MomMom bought her for her first birthday!
