Grand PliƩ
Tegan was feeling better last night, although she is still having her 'moments'. I think she is cutting molars and that is causing her pain.
I think she is still sick sinces she is taking long naps.
Shannon dressed her up in a cute ballet outfit and I took as many pictures
as I could. Enjoy!

Tegan and Shaun
Tegan loves any interaction with Shaun because he is so playful and fun. Here she is trying to engage him from across the living room barrier.

Happy new year!
Resolutions
I afraid I’ll have to resurrect last year's resolution, that is, to exercise and eat healthy, and
I know what to do, I just don't do it. Face it; it sucks to bust your butt on hourly walks,
pilates stretches, weight lifting and calorie counting. That's why, this year,
I am taking a different tack. I am not going to count calories, that only ensures instant,
insatiable hunger pains for me, I'm just not going to do it. For me, dieting is hard since
most people can cut out certain foods and lose weight. As a diabetic, I don't imbibe in alcohol,
or suck down sodas. I do not nosh on chips and fries or candy and donuts. There is nothing
for me to cut out, well, except butter. It is my one pleasure, my one decedent dab of deliciousness that I savor and enjoy. So, I will have to cut back on that. Make no mistake, I will have a smear now and then. Nevertheless, I know the which foods to eat, super foods, monounsaturated fats, colors of the rainbow yada yada, I'll just stick to them. At least I'll try. More importantly, I will have to exercise. Daily. So, if you talk to me, hold me accountable. Ask me how my exercise program is doing. Maybe, the humiliation of anyone finding out how lazy I am will force me to stick with it
Anyway, happy 2010!

Winter Musings
I take comfort in the winter landscape, seeing the cold, white sun cast a soft, golden glow on the barren trees that sway in the icy, frigid wind. I find solace in the fierce and bitter winds as they rush through the countryside, bringing tears to my stinging, squinting eyes as I rush
home, while cloud's shadows roll across dormant, frozen fields.
Home, a place of sanctuary with a warm, amber lit kitchen, the scent of apple candles and a steaming cup of tea, where rosy cheeked faces and wagging tails are always there to greet me. Yes, I find peace in the browns and grays of winter, the ground blanketed with snow, covering
and giving a well earned rest to the sweet plot of earth where I reside. I take comfort, for I too shall be at rest behind the solid walls of my country house, nestled deep, beneath my soft, warm covers, safely tucked away from winter's sting.
